Subject: WIND TURBINE POLICY
#1
Application PA0900508/F for a wind turbine.

Wind turbines are growing threat to rural areas unless well managed.

This will be 15 metres high, well above the tree screening. It is in a World Heritage site, and an Area of Great Landscape Value (AGLV), within 250 metres of the Tregonning Hill Conservation Area..

It is visible from Both Godolphin and Tregonning Hills, and for many miles around.

This is a key decision, as to whether single wind turbines for largely personal gain scattered over our iconic county sites of outstanding beauty are desirable, or whether more effective solutions should be sought. It will give a precedent for a ring of turbines around both hills if unopposed. If this was an industrial chimney seeking permission it would not get it.

Very few people in the area know of the application. Many of the closest neighbours were not consulted.

Objections close today Tuesday 19 May. planning.west2@cornwall.gov.uk

Many of the facts in the original application are wrong (It is in a WHS, neighbours were not consulted, the notional photo is incorrect, it is not screened by trees etc) and may or may not have been amended at this time of writing.

Piecemeal development on keynote beauty sites does not seem the way to go.

Thank you for listening.
