I'm generally in favour of Wind Farms but have struggled to find a great deal of impartial information on them.
What I can find is either by groups, like this one, that are strongly against or by groups that are strongly in favour.

I would like to make my mind up based on unbiased information.
If anyone has any information or internet links to some that would be most appreciated.

It is really the same for any subject and the thing to do is to read everything from all sites to help you make up your own mind.

In the information section you will find many reports, studies and links to information. This site is new (just 4 weeks old) and still growing, albeit slowly! It is difficult and takes a lot of time to search out all the information that this site can use. In the meantime, if you find information or a site that you find of interest, please help us by letting us know about it.

Thank you.

Considering the name of this group, I have copied some links into this reply that provide impartial and pro wind farm websites. Maybe this will provide a more balances approach?

So - the other side of the story...

In regards to house prices

Without going back and checking (sorry, short on time at the moment!) as I understand it the study only looked at houses in 2 areas that were at the lower end of the price scale in a cheap area, which wouldn't alter much anyway. Any such study should cover more areas and a wider scale of properties. The study doesn't help those people who are in an area where it has affected house prices. Each area and type of property differs.

The farm at Lambrigg consists only of 5 x 43 metre turbines. The current proposal for Marshland St James is for 26 x 130 metre turbines - quite a difference in number and size!

For many subjects covered in these links there are reports, study and information to contradict them. It is down to the individual to decide which report they wish to believe.

This link, from a pro wind farm website established by Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and the WWF, also quotes the research from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Brooks University mentioned in the previous link, but also offers real experiences of what has happened in other communities post wind farms.
