FUNDRAISING EVENT MARRED BY ARSON

FLAT held a fund raising table top auction at the Marshland Jubilee Hall on Saturday evening.  For the purpose of raising money the event was a great success with over £1,200 added to the FLAT fighting fund.  We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who donated items, helped organise and run the event and to those that turned up on the night to part with their cash. The event was so popular that we will almost certainly be holding another auction later in the year

Unfortunately the evening was marred by a serious arson attack on the property of our Borough Councillor, David Markinson who was acting as auctioneer at the time.  This is the second arson attack on Councillor Markinson’s property during times when he was helping FLAT with fund raising events.

Lyndon Mason, Chairman of FLAT said “our sympathies go out to David and Sally and we are disgusted that someone can take advantage of David goodwill in helping our fundraising activity. We hope the police will be able to quickly find the culprits and bring them to justice”
