PUBLIC MEETING ON 14th NOVEMBER 2008Just a quick remainder that FLAT will be holding a public meeting at Tilney St Lawrence Village Hall at 7PM on the 14th November. The main emphasis of the meeting will be to explain how to object to the proposal to build nineteen huge industrial turbines around the villages of Marshland St James, Tilney, Outwell, Upwell and Emneth. Using evidence from the developers own documents, we will also explain the huge and devastating impact that this development will have on our area. Our guest speaker will be Mike Barnard, who has already been successful in helping to defeat four other applications. It may seem to some that the outcome of this application is a “foregone” conclusion and that there is little point in fighting it. Mike will dispel this myth and explain how we can ensure that this application is one of the 65% of applications that are actually never built! We would also like to point out that a complete hard copy of this application is now available at the main reception of Kings Lynn Borough Council. There are also copies at King’s Lynn, Downham Market, Fakenham, Dersingham and Swaffham libraries as well as at the Council’s Information Centre in Downham Market. It has taken almost a month for the developers to make this information available – which begs the question, WHAT HAVE THEY BEEN TRYING TO HIDE? We will answer this question at our meeting on the 14th! You may have seen articles in the local press implying that the Borough Council should not be contacted about this application. This is actually incorrect because an objection from the Borough Council will trigger a public enquiry. We are pleased to report that the public comments section for this application has now been opened up again and members of the public are encouraged to submit their views. This can be done via the Public Access section of the Councils website. The Borough Council’s planning reference is 08/02365/S36.
FLAT can be contacted via our website www.flat-group.co.uk by writing to FLAT, PO Box 182, Wisbech, PE14 4BL or by telephoning 07789 524850. Please distribute this information as widely as possible – we now need your to help to defeat this application! |
