PRESS RELEASE 12th November 2008MARSHLAND WIND FARM LTD ACCUSES KINGS LYNN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF “DODGY DEALINGS” Marshland Wind Farm Ltd, the company that are trying to desecrate our local landscape by building 19 massive industrial wind turbines adjacent to Marshland St James and Tilney, today accused the Kings Lynn Borough Council of “dodgy dealings” in relation to this application. An e-mail from Ian Robinson (their rather volatile and unpredictable consultant) implies that both Councillor Markinson and the Chief Executive Ray Harding have been involved in inappropriate behaviour in relation to both the planning application and the Parish Poll held at Marshland St James. The Parish Poll held last October showed that 77% of voters were opposed to the development. However Marshland Wind Farm do not seem to accept the democratic view of local people and have constantly tried to discredit it in any way that they can. Their latest attack on local democracy is extraordinary and they go on to accuse Councillor Markinson of bullying officials within the Council and of untruthfulness! A FLAT representative today said “these accusations show the desperation of Marshland Wind Farm Ltd and the levels to which they will sink to try and get permission to build these useless and unwanted monstrosities in our beautiful countryside. They are having to resort to smear tactics because despite their claims that there has been no significant objections to the proposal, this is clearly another lie because the MOD, Highways Department and Drainage Board have actually lodged serious objections. We will provide further details in a subsequent press release”
