PRESS RELEASE 17th NOVEMBER 2008MARSHLAND WIND FARM LTD APPLICATION – OBJECTIONS ARE POURING IN!! It is only just over a month since Marshland Wind Farm Ltd submitted their planning application to try and build 19 massive wind turbines around the villages of Marshland St James, Tilney, Outwell and Emneth but already the objections are pouring in. Now that all of the information is in the public arena it is very reassuring to see that the misleading and shoddy version being presented by the developers is being torn to shreds at all levels. Already, official objections have been submitted by the MOD and the Highways Authority. The Drainage Board have also stated that they have not been adequately consulted. The Objection from the Highways Authority is especially damming and states that the applicant has not answered any relevant questions and has failed to provide even the most basic information. This very much confirms what FLAT has always maintained ie that the fact that much of the information provided by Marshland Wind Farm Ltd is either inaccurate, incomplete or at the very worse, deliberately misleading. Objections from local residents are also mounting and dozens are now listed on the Council website. However it is very important to not be complacent and despite yet another misleading statement from MWFL (ie in their latest newsletter they incorrectly state that the Borough Council should not be contacted about this application) it is crucial that you send your objections to Geoff Hall, Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, Kings Court, Chapel Street, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, PE30 1EX . e-mail: geoff.hall@west-norfolk.gov.uk. Alternatively you can comment via the Borough Council website within the Public Access section of the planning portal. The Borough Council’s planning reference is 08/02365/S36. A copy of your objection should also be sent to Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change , C/O Gareth Leigh, BERR, 1 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0ET. e-mail: Gareth.Leigh@berr.gsi.gov.uk. If you want to appear at any future public enquiry you also need to register your intention with Gareth Leigh by the 15th December. And of course remember to keep a copy for your own records. If you want to defeat this application please submit your objections immediately in order to make the planners fully aware that our community totally rejects this unwanted desecration of our countryside.
FLAT can be contacted via our website www.flat-group.co.uk by writing to FLAT, PO Box 182, Wisbech, PE14 4BL or by telephoning 07789 524850. Please distribute this information as widely as possible – we now need your to help to defeat this application!
